Roy's Challenge Week 2

Melchester Rovers must win their match with Stambridge City if they are to stay in the title race. But injuries to Andy Maclaren and Johnny Dexter meant Roy had to pick youngster Broz Bamber and bring back fit again Alex Ritchie. Can Rovers keep the pressure on Burndean at the top of the table?

  1. Was it mentioned in the ROTRs that Burndean was top of the table?

    1. It was suggested that they were Burndean and Tynecaster were the strongest sides in the early 90s. The 1990/91 season focused almost entirely on the Cup Winners Cup and Little Racey in the youth team, no league tables were printed. I like Burndean and Newton Oates so chose them.

    1. 1978/79 Carford were top in January.

There are more I'm sure. I will look it up. I have it all written out, just a matter of scanning through the spreadsheets. I have notes of all the times that tables, results or league positions are mentioned.

I have compiled lists of the DIvision 1 teams from 1976 to 1993, I'd say they are 85% accurate. Lots of assumptions, like using "having a really poor season" or "awful" meaning relegated.

If I had scans of Marks Brothers I think I could really piece it together.

  3. could you mention some of the details u have over the other seasons? Im trying to complete and represent a list (or i ll send u the info and u ll post) about all the champions in all Rovers seasons. The ones referred as leaders i supposed they finished on top at the end ie 1956 and 1961 it was Portdean, 1959 Bamford Athletic etc
