  1. That artist really didn't know how to depict floodlighting in a football stadium........

    1. I never noticed that, this isn't the regular artist of The Safest Hands... , the first save really doesn't have that "movement" and life typical of the strip.

I'll be putting more scans up soon from the comic series, there's some great artwork there. Definitely one of my favourite artists.

  2. I agree. I wasn't reading RotR during the Safest Hands years, but I really liked his work on Goalkeeper. Due to the lack of credits in the comic during that era, though, I have no idea of his name. Shame.

    1. Here's a line-up for the First Division match vs Barmouth in 1981/82: Gordon Stewart; Martin Allan, Alan Long (c), Jock McEwan, Mick Johnson; Paddy Murphy, Jeremy Drummond, Colin Sharp; Gary Walker, Barry Carter, Jeremiah Swift. Brian Culthorpe was captain the season before but forced to retire from injury. Gary Walker was signed from North Vale to replace Billy Kramer who broke his leg. Both Long and McEwan had played in midfield.
